IM Friendly! Support

Version 1.5.0

Below you will find an explanation of the problem which was fixed in version 1.5.0.

When the Android system needs memory to run other applications (especially complex applications such as the Browser and YouTube are started) it forcefully shuts down other background applications. In such a case the system restarts these background applications a short time later. “IM Friendly!” will log back in when it is restarted.

Version 1.1.0

Today we released version 1.1.0 of IM Friendly!. This is an update which targets the firmware 1.5 (Cupcake). We fixed a crash which was occurring when using the soft keyboard in landscape mode and we adjusted the text input on all the text fields.

This update is only for users who already got the Cupcake update from T-Mobile. If you have an older firmware version (1.0 or 1.1) you will not see the latest version of the application in the Market.

IM Friendly! Version 1.0.0

IM Friendly! is a remake of Maverick. We made a lot of suddle improvements:

  • Contacts are now organized in online & offline groups.
  • There is easy access to recent conversations from the buddy list.
  • The conversations screen look has changed (the buddy icon is displayed for every message and different font is used for my messages vs. my buddy’s messages).
  • Individual messages and entire conversations can be e-mailed.
  • E-mails, phone numbers and web links in instant messages are recognized and can be opened.
  • User now flips through conversations not through the entire buddy list.
  • Forwarding of instant messages is supported.
  • New preferences to: use the LED for notifications, LED color & set custom IM sounds for up to 8 buddies and active conversation notification sound.
  • Many small bug fixes.

The goal for the “remake” was to build a very functional instant messenger application. Please note that we removed the send/receive photos and scribbles features. The reason we removed these features is because we had too many problems accessing the user’s Picasa account.
